Certified licensed welding and installation of energy gas systems
Örebro Gasteknik AB performs certified, licensed welding and installation of complete piping systems for energy gases and industrial gases.
Our installers and licensed welders specialize in pressurized equipment and work exclusively with gas systems. We perform TIG welding of stainless steel and carbon steel pipes, as well as butt and electrofusion welding of PE pipes buried in the ground, always in accordance with Energigas Sverige, EGN (the Energigas Standard), and applicable welding standards.

Specialists in licensed welding and industrial assembly
Örebro Gasteknik AB has fully equipped service vehicles for complete installation and licensed welding directly at the customer’s site. We handle everything from one-time jobs and component replacements to turnkey piping contracts for industrial gas facilities.
Certified TIG Welding of Steel Pipes
Performed by our certified licensed welders on stainless steel and carbon steel piping for pressure equipment (PED / AFS).
Butt and electrofusion Welding of PE Pipes
Proper performance of PE welding (polyethylene / PE100) for buried gas lines and underground piping systems.
Manufacturing Inspection and Pressure Testing
All installations are completed with a self-inspection as well as legally required gas leak and pressure tests to ensure traceable quality assurance prior to commissioning.
What We Install – Components and System Parts
We perform additional assembly and installation work for both turnkey energy gas systems and individual subsystems:
Vaporization systems and vaporization stations
For propane (LPG) and bio-LPG.
Pressure-reducing and regulating stations
For precise pressure and flow control of burners and furnaces.
Tanks and Gas Cylinder Racks
With accompanying safety and shut-off valves.
Pipeline Systems and Pipe Bridges
TIG-welded steel pipes and underground PE pipes.
Gas Alarms and Security Systems
Detection systems connected to automatic solenoid valves for emergency shutdown.
Quality Assurance and Welding Standards
All licensed welding and assembly work is performed with full traceability in accordance with applicable European and Swedish directives:
Pressure Equipment Directive (PED 2014/68/EU / AFS)
Compliance with essential safety requirements for pressurized piping systems.
SS-EN ISO 9606-1
Qualifications and Licenses for Welders of Stainless Steel and Carbon Steel Pipes.
SS-EN 13067
Certified plastic welders for butt and electrofusion welding of PE pipes.
Non-Destructive Testing (NDT)
Inspection of welded joints using X-rays, penetrant testing, or ultrasonic testing when expanded manufacturing inspection is required.
Complete handover and documentation package
Once the installation is complete, we provide a comprehensive traceability and quality portfolio required for inspections and insurance surveys:
- Material Certificate (3.1 certificate in accordance with EN 10204).
- Welding procedure specifications (WPS) and welder certification.
- Report from the manufacturing inspection and SWEDAC-accredited pressure testing.
- CE marking and declaration of conformity, where applicable.
Frequently Asked Questions About Gas Installations
The installation of energy gas systems must be performed by an authorized gas installation company with documented expertise and qualified management. Örebro Gasteknik AB is authorized by Energigas Sverige and has certified installation supervisors for natural gas, propane, biogas, and other energy gases. Our installation work is performed by certified licensed welders in accordance with applicable guidelines.
This means that the welder has passed approved welding tests in accordance with applicable standards (such as SS-EN ISO 9606) for pressure vessels. The license verifies that the welder has the theoretical and practical skills to produce leak-tight, structurally sound, and traceable welds in stainless steel and carbon steel pipes.
The choice of material depends on the type of gas, pressure level, and installation environment. For above-ground installations and pressurized systems, stainless steel and carbon steel—welded using the TIG process—are primarily used. For buried underground pipelines, PE pipes (polyethylene PE100) are used, which are butt-welded or electrofusion-welded to ensure high corrosion resistance and flexibility.
Yes. According to the Swedish Work Environment Authority’s regulations and the Swedish Civil Contingencies Agency’s (MSB) rules, all new installations, modifications, and expansions of pressurized gas pipelines must undergo a manufacturing inspection involving leak and pressure testing with gas before they are put into service. Örebro Gasteknik AB performs the testing using traceable, calibrated instruments and issues approved inspection certificates.
An authorized gas installation company possesses specific expertise, licenses, and equipment for pressurized flammable gases, which are regulated by Energigas Sverige, the Swedish Civil Contingencies Agency (MSB), and AFS regulations. A standard HVAC certification generally does not meet the strict certification and safety requirements that apply to industrial energy gas systems.
