Industrial Gas Alarms and Detection Systems
Certified gas detection, traceable calibration, and automatic emergency shutdown for industrial gas safety.
Örebro Gasteknik AB designs, installs, calibrates, and services complete gas alarm systems for flammable, toxic, and asphyxiating gases. Our stationary and portable detector systems protect personnel and facilities when handling liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), natural gas/biogas, hydrogen, carbon monoxide, and oxygen deficiency.

A reliable gas alarm system is a vital part of a facility’s passive and active safety measures. Örebro Gasteknik AB designs, sells, installs, and services complete gas alarm systems tailored to your facility’s specific gas handling, zone classification (ATEX), and regulatory requirements. Once the electrical installation is complete, our technicians take over to perform commissioning, calibration using traceable test gas, and the issuance of legally required calibration and adjustment reports.
Industrial gas detectors for all gas types and ATEX zones
We provide stationary and modular gas detection systems equipped with the appropriate sensor technology (catalytic, IR/NDIR, electrochemical, or semiconductor sensors) depending on the operating environment and gas type:
Flammable gases (LEL/LFG)
Early detection of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), natural gas/biogas (CH₄), hydrogen (H₂), and solvents before the explosion limit is reached.
Poisonous & Toxic Gases
Highly sensitive detectors for carbon monoxide (CO), hydrogen sulfide (H₂S), ammonia (NH₃), and carbon dioxide (CO₂).
Oxygen Deficiency & Asphyxiating Gases (O₂)
Monitoring of oxygen levels in enclosed spaces when handling nitrogen (N₂), argon, or helium.
ATEX-certified equipment
Ex-rated detectors and control units designed for Zone 1 and Zone 2.
Commissioning, Calibration, and Traceable Adjustment Records
A gas alarm only provides peace of mind if the detectors are properly calibrated to the correct gas concentration. During commissioning, we perform the following:
-
Functional testing of the alarm control panel, strobe lights, sirens, and relay controls (e.g., automatic shutdown of solenoid valves and activation of emergency ventilation).
-
Adjustment and zero-point calibration using a certified and traceable test gas.
-
Issuance of a complete calibration report that meets the requirements of the emergency services, the Environmental and Building Board, and insurance companies.
Periodic inspections, sensor replacement, and service inspections
Gas detectors age and lose sensitivity over time. To ensure proper operation, periodic inspections and test gas pulses are required:
Integrated Vehicle Inspection
We coordinate the legally required inspection of your gas alarm system in conjunction with the annual safety and service inspection of the rest of your gas system.
Functional Check & Bump Test
Field testing of sensor response times and alarm thresholds.
Preventive Sensor Replacement
Replace electrochemical cells and spent sensor elements before a failure occurs.
Does your gas alarm need to be calibrated or serviced?
We perform test gas purges, sensor replacements, and calibration using traceable test gas—either individually or in coordination with your regular gas service.
